Criterion Games made themselves a name by creating the original Burnout series for consoles. They decided the console world was too small for their ambitions, therefore they ported Burnout Paradise to PC. Burnout Paradise "The Ultimate Box" is actually a re-release. However, it's not just the original Burnout Paradise, you also have a ton of add-ons like: Codename: Bogart, Codename: Cagney, the Bikes pack, the Party pack and the Update pack. You will also have access to the Premium Downloadable content system from Criterion, allowing yourself to get more updates.
In case you haven't played Burnout Paradise, the premise is simple: you like speed, you are in a big city, and you don't care about your own safety. You can fill out the blanks for the rest of the game. There are several event types for you to be in, Races, Road Rage, Marked Man, Stunt Run and Burning Route. It is simple, you either have to race someone, get to a target point score (by doing boost, jumps, drifts). At first some singe player content might get repetitive though. Luckily the game has a superb multiplayer game, and with the add-on packs you are pretty much set for a long time with this game. Criterion has a trail pack on their website, in case you want to try it. Or you can buy it through the publisher's store (EA Shop). |
